You can live and work in the UK for up to 24 months. You can enter, leave and return to the UK while your visa is valid.
CAN I EXTEND MY YOUTH MOBILITY SCHEME VISA?
You can only extend it if you are from Australia, Canada or New Zealand. The extension is for one year and can only be granted once.
WHAT CAN I DO ON THIS VISA?
You can study, work in most jobs, and be self-employed or set up a company if your premises are rented, your equipment is not worth more than £5,000, and you do not have employees.
WHICH COUNTRIES HAVE THE 18 TO 35 AGE RANGE?
Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Korea have the 18 to 35 age range.
WHICH COUNTRIES HAVE THE 18 TO 30 AGE RANGE?
The 18 to 30 age range applies to applicants from Andorra, Iceland, Japan, Monaco, San Marino and Uruguay, and to eligible British overseas citizens, British overseas territories citizens and British nationals overseas.
WHO NEEDS TO BE SELECTED IN THE YOUTH MOBILITY SCHEME BALLOT?
Applicants from Hong Kong with an SAR passport and applicants from Taiwan must be selected in the ballot before applying.
WHEN CAN I NOT APPLY?
You cannot apply if you have children under 18 who live with you, children you are financially responsible for, or if you have already been in the UK under the scheme.
IS THERE A DIFFERENT SCHEME FOR INDIAN NATIONALS?
Yes. Indian nationals should check the India Young Professionals Scheme visa instead.
